Loco Perro

Team Info:
The Loco Perro Expos joined the Manchester Twilight League in 2011 as the Tri-County Expos with Bill Girardi at the helm. In 2012, Peter Villa Jr. and Fritz Leue took over the managerial duties and Loco Perro, a Mexican restaurant in East Hampton became the team’s title sponsor. That year, the Expos finished the regular season with a 7-12-2 record and captured the seventh seed in the playoffs. They won three games in the loser’s bracket, knocking off the defending champion Bristol Knights, the Glastonbury Pirates and Willimantic Ridges before losing to the eventual champion, Elmer’s by mercy rule in the semi-finals. In 2013, the Expos went 9-13-2 and earned the eighth seed in the newly expanded 10 team league and once again they went on a run in the tournament. The Expos eliminated the Knights, Rivals Indians and East Hartford Angels before a rematch with Elmer’s, but for the second straight year, Elmer’s ended the Expos run. In 2014, Villa retired from coaching and Leue left the team, handing it over to the “kids.” Brian Kohn and Zack Turner, along with the help of Brian Timmes, gained control and continue to coach the team in 2015. In 2014 the Expos finished the season at 8-18, but are looking forward to a strong season in 2015. The Expos currently play home games at West Road in Marlborough and frequent Loco Perro postgame.
