Bristol Shock 2024 Preview:

The Shock open the 2024 season once again looking to bring some good to the community and support the Bristol Police, by using our annual interleague exhibition game to raise money for the families of our fallen Bristol Officers. Many on both teams had direct personal connections to the men, and for the second year used our annual event to raise some money for the families.

The Bristol Shock are starting their 2nd year with their new name and look to be back and stronger than ever. The team looks to build upon falling just short of returning to the CTL Championship, losing in the CTL semifinals. The Shock return many of their core and best players from 2023. The team is losing one of its longest tenured members, Rick Barrett, as he retired as a regular player. Rick still helps behind the scenes and will show up to bolster the roster when needed, but we’ll miss his everyday presence. In Ricks 15 year tenure with the Knights/Shock, he was part of 3 CTL Championship teams, a many time allstar, and the team’s as player/manager since 2019.
As the Shock move to the regular season, the team brings a large and extremely talented roster back this year, while adding a handful of key players. The Shock were formed, as their previous iterations (the Bristol Knights, and the Southington Aftershock), as a place for local ballplayers to continue playing the game they love and at an extremely high level. We have some current college players, and many former High School, College, and pro players on the team. Returning to the lineup this year after missing last year are Bristol veterans Kyle Pileski and Noah Plantamuro. Also returning from his Aftershock days is veteran Dan Daly. The team is also adding a few other outstanding local baseball players to round out the roster. The team should be extremely competitive in 2024, and is looking to win another CTL Championship
