The Indians led by the strong pitching of Devin Over shutdown the 2 time CTL Champion Bristol Knights Thursday night. The game was initially delayed 45 minutes due to passing rain storms, that left a disgustingly mucky and tough playing surface, which itself became a big factor in the game. Chris McGrath started for the Knights but errors, and some timely indians hits dropped 4 runs in the second inning. The Knights had plenty of baserunners and chances, but Over got out of the binds as needed. Final Score 8-0.
In game 2 (which didn’t get to start until 9:10), Matt Spence got the start for Glastonbury vs Willimantic’s Dan Livingson. Spence gave up a few early runs on some hits and a few errors, and that was enough. Livingston kept the Glastonbury rallies down, and ended up on top, 5-2.
Tonight:
Glastonbury Pirates vs Chicago Sam’s Orioles in game 1 at 6pm.
Elmer’s Silver Bullets vs Bristol Knights in game 2 at 8:00pm-ish (probably more like 8:20)
It would be great if the field was dry and playable tonight… so rain stay away.
On the chance games are cancelled, they will be pushed to Monday and the schedule will be adjusted.
