It was a rough night for the Connecticut Twilight League who never could get much going. The CTL All-Stars seemed off their games, unlike their Greater Hartford counterparts. Bristol Knights Manager Brian LaRochelle did his best to make it an inclusive game and be competitive, but it didn’t work out in the end. The GHTBL got an early lead and the CTL never got going, with the final score being 12-0. The GHTBL started the scoring in the 2nd with a solo HR by Mark DiTomasso off starter Chris McGrath. DiTomasso struck again later in the top of the third, hitting the first pitch he saw from Adam Michaud out for a Grand Slam. A very impressive performance from Mark. The GHTBL pitching was solid, keeping the CTL hitters in check most of the night, and didn’t allow any runners even into scoring position. Ken Cook, got the CTL’s first hit in the 6th inning, while Albert Pienkowski was one of the few bright spots on the night pitching an effective 5th. Another highlight of the game was Elmer’s / Clippers Pitcher Taylor Kosakowski who pitched consecutive 1-2-3 innings for BOTH leagues. We hope in coming years to continue this tradition as long as both leagues are interested,  and we hope to obviously play a much more competitive game… which we are certainly capable of, but didn’t show on this night. Congrats to Jane Foss (president of the GHTBL) Rob Tencza, Wes Ulbrich, and all the other players/managers of the GHTBL. Thank you for being receptive to talking/working together and hopefully we can work out more of that in the near future, for the betterment of both leagues and baseball in central CT.
