This coming Tuesday night (5/14) is the annual the Bristol Twilight Interleague exhibition game at Muzzy Field. Our own Bristol Shock and the Bristol Greeners of the GHTBL will meet on the field once again. Same as we did last year, we’ve decided to continue with our support of the Bristol Police and the fallen officers families. We continue to think about and wanted to once again honor our Bristol Police officers and benefit the families of those officers killed in the line of duty in October of ’22. Both teams once again wanted to do something positive as our seasons are starting back up and are raising money for the Fund the First Campaign benefitting the families of officers Hamzy and DeMonte. Last year in our game, we raised just over $1000 total between online and in person donations.

Some of the players on both teams had known the officers affected by the tragedy. In talking we realized our yearly baseball game could be used to bring some good back to the community and the families. This initiative was spearheaded by the coaching staff of both the Greeners and Shock, and especially Bristol Coach/Player Justin Martella who himself is a Wolcott Police officer but lives with his family here in Bristol. Justin’s work with LT. Robert C. Osborne in of the Bristol Police in 2023 helped make last years event possible.

Please make a donation to the Fund the First campaign for officers Hamzy and Demonte’s families.
