The Connecticut Orioles are a bunch of younger ballplayers who formed a team based off of connections made back in high school and/or college, who are psyched to have a place to play this summer. The majority of the players are all current or recently graduated UConn students who come from all over the state of CT. The team will not play with a traditional home field and are proud to call themselves road warriors. The team is run by player/manager Dominic Shumilla and the assistant coach/player is Ben Lodewick. The Orioles actually will be using the former Chicago Sam’s Orioles black uniforms. When the previous iteration of the Orioles let by Don Fodaski merged into the Indians (and now Rockies), they still had their previous Orioles jerseys available, and Don was fantastic to offer them to the new expansion team. Thanks Don!
Welcome to the CTL, Orioles!
