Travis Mistretta of the Angels defeated Kez Douglas of the Indians in the final of the Home Run Derby last Friday 6/17. Both qualified for the final with 7 home runs in the first round. Kez went first in the final and hit 3 home runs, and Travis hit 4 with 4 outs remaining to walkoff with the victory. In the first round John Kushman of the Angels and Nate Narducci of the Orioles both had fantastic rounds with 6 home runs each. Next highest after that was Josue Lopez of the Panthers with 3 HRs. Rex Cone (Knights), Rick Barrett (Knights), and Russ LaFleur (Elmer’s) all hit 2 HRs. Earl Oakes (Knights) and Brian Kohn (Expos) both hit one each. Also competing in the event were Chris Barsa (League President, Indians), Nate Corriveau (Ridges), Marco Ross (Knights), Ray DeRosa (Panthers), Mike D’Antonio (Angels), Rafael Garcia (Orioles), and Brendan Wyman (Angels). It was a good time and we hope to do it again in 2017. Special thanks to Rick Barrett and Mike D’Antonio for getting the ball rolling on this, this season. Also big thanks to Adam and Joe Michaud for repairing and bringing down the L-Screen to make the even safe (Don Fodasky’s life was saved once by it). Big thanks to Brian LaRochelle and Don Fodasky for coming down and pitching and catching for many of the guys without themselves being in the event (and all the other guys who came to pitch). The event was organized by Scott Dickens working with Chris Barsa, Rick Barrett, Mike D’Antonio, Don Fodasky, and Ken Cook.

Here is a highlight video of the home runs we were able to capture on video… cool stuff.
